This
unit houses several different
strains of mouse (BALB/c, C57BL/6,
C3H/HeOuJ, C3H/HeJ, CBA/CaJ) and rat (Sprague-Dawley) as well as atimic
nude mouse (CD1). Different cancer models are being developed by using
these animals. Our facility contains eight individually heated and
ventilated animal rooms, one of which is suitable for maintaining
immune deficient mouse colonies with microisolator cages. In addition,
this facility also contains rooms for animal surgery, frozen and
paraffin tissue preparation, immunostaining and cryosectioning. Our
animal facility has been approved to operate and to produce
experimental animals by a license from The Ministry of
Agriculture.
This facility gives services not only to the members of the Dept. of
Molecular Biology and Genetics but also to other researchers across
Turkey. Our facility provides experimental animals for the researchers
with a fee, if their experimental protocol has been approved by local
animal ethics committee. Please see the list of local animal ethics
committee that has been approved by the relevant.
One veterinary doctor and two
